Canis Major (by the way the big dog in the night sky) stands for quality, functionality and style.

All our products are carefully handmade and tailor-made in our small studio in Zurich. We use only high quality materials, which meet the different requirements of our versatile products to the maximum.

Besides the quality and functionality of our products, sustainability is also close to our heart. All fabrics used are OEKO-TEX® certified and therefore absolutely free of harmful substances. Each of our products is also 100% vegan. We have consciously decided against the use of leather and animal products. Because with our extremely high-quality and robust artificial leather, we have found an equal alternative, which, unlike leather, is also allowed to get wet and dirty.

Since we want everyone to feel at home with us, we rely on individualization and customization for many products. This way we can find the right design, material and size for almost every taste and preference.

Canis Major is a small family business, which was founded in August 2021. In the foreground are us: Brigitte and Remy and our two poodles Louis and Giacomo. But also the other family members are always involved in our projects and support us actively.

Brigitte has been working full-time as an interior decorator for over 40 years and specializes in upholstering and covering beautiful antique furniture. She is the professional in upholstering and covering our dog beds. You will get an absolute quality product that will accompany you and your four-legged friend for many years. In addition, she knows her way around the world of fabrics. With her material expertise, we can guarantee you great materials with the highest quality workmanship.

Remy is the creative head behind Canis Major, with ideas usually hard to stop. You can look forward to a constantly growing assortment. She works part-time in nursing and as a transplant coordinator. So working with the different materials, product design and colors of CANIS MAJOR is the perfect complement to the medical field. Remy produces the collars and leashes as well as the accessories.

Then we have our two poodles Louis and Giacomo. They provide us with daily inspiration, test our products (e.g. with their daily mud baths), are regularly in front of the camera for us and help with the marketing of our products.
