Our STELLAR collars and leashes look and feel like leather, but like all Canis Major products, they are absolutely VEGAN. We made a conscious decision not to use real leather, after all there are great and high quality alternatives available today. That’s why we are so excited about our imitation leather from the STELLAR collection. It is wonderfully soft, extremely robust, abrasion-resistant (150,000 Martindale abrasion cycles), can get wet and dirty and the matte colors can be combined with each other perfectly. Sun, wind, rain and mud hold our collars and leashes loosely and in addition they are easy to clean.
Our collars and leashes are all individually sewn and made for your favorite in elaborate handwork. Every single product is designed and manufactured in our studio in Zurich. So you can put together your own collar and leash according to your wishes.
The Stellar City Leash is a shorter city leash, perfect if you want to keep your charge close to you. The CCity Leash is NOT adjustable and has a length of about 1.55m.
Notes on the imitation leather
- Upper fabric: 100 % polyvinyl chloride, lower fabric: 65 % polyester, 35 % viscose
- Fine leather grain
- Abrasion value: 150.000 tours (Very high, Martindale)
- Light fastness: 6 (DIN 53952)
- Vegan
Care
In order to enjoy your collars and leashes as long as possible, make sure that they do not rub on rough surfaces (e.g. road surface). Normal signs of use, such as fine cracks or abrasions, are normal as with real leather and cannot be avoided. They can be repaired with ordinary leather repair materials if necessary.
Dirty collars or leashes can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth. If it is very dirty, clean it with water and detergent (e.g. cell phone) and a soft sponge if necessary, then hang it up to dry.
Avoid oils and creams. Even though our faux leather can tolerate much more greasy substances than others, it will still eventually reach its limits😉 It does not need care like leather, water and soap are quite enough.
Notes on the Hardware
- Silver: Stainless steel
- Breaking loads of carabiners Silver: SLIM 230kg, STANDARD 250kg, WIDE 230kg (scissors carabiner), Extra strong: 300kg.
- Gold: Brass (stainless)
- Breaking loads of carabiners brass: SLIM 137kg, STANDARD 138kg, WIDE 130kg (scissors carabiners), Extra strong: 300kg.
- Black & Rose: Lacquered. Therefore, scratches and ordinary wear may cause the metal under the paint to show. Scratched areas may rust if necessary. This process cannot be prevented and is not a reason for complaint. . In the hardware store you can buy metal paint (looks like nail polish), with which you can paint the silver areas back to black.
- Breaking loads of the black carabiners: SLIM 100kg, STANDARD 166kg, WIDE 120kg (scissor carabiner), Extra strong: 300kg.
- Breaking loads of carabiners Rosé: SLIM 100kg, STANDARD 166kg, WIDE 166kg
“Extra strong” carabiners are so-called Swedish hooks and have a breaking load of 300kg. They are only available for line width WIDE 20mm.
Size information
The City leash STELLAR is about 1.55m long and available in the widths SLIM 12mm, STANDARD 15mm and WIDE 20mm.
Our products are individually handmade for each customer. Therefore, it may take up to 4 weeks for us to ship the goods.
